Catherine Ross – Horsham PPC nomination statement.
Catherine has lived in Horsham district since her family came here when she was just two. Raised in Partridge Green and resident in the town since 2000, Catherine is now raising her own two children in Horsham. As well as the family, Catherine runs her own business, is a school governor and is our local party Chair.
When seeking selection as Parliamentary candidate from her local party colleagues, Catherine gave the following statement:
"I've lived in Horsham my whole life. I run a business here and am raising children here. It's a great place to live. But there are growing problems in our health services and our schools caused by underfunding. Despite the majority of people in Horsham voting Remain, we're facing a “hard” Brexit and years of insecurity.
I believe in people over profit. In narrowing, not widening, the gap between rich and poor, in properly funding public services and in building affordable, sustainable homes alongside the necessary infrastructure to support their inhabitants. These are views shared by the Green Party.
As a Horsham resident, the constituency’s issues are my issues. As such, I feel I’m well placed to represent the Green Party in the next General Election."
